This page is a work in progress.  It is going to have a photo and short bio of all the board members.  Check back as we continue to add to the page.

debbiepPresident:  Debbie Passi - This is my 36th year working for Seattle Public Schools. I was born and raised in Seattle, and attended Fairview Elementary, John Marshall Junior High, and Roosevelt High Schools.   I have been an active member of SAEOP for the duration of my employment, with my first committee assignment in the early 70's while Lala Klenman was president.  During my tenure, I have seen SAEOP affiliate with SEA, participated in several strikes, watched Seattle Public Schools recover from a double levy loss, and served on two bargaining teams in addition to other committee assignments and my term as president.

While not working or serving SAEOP, I have raised two children.  My daughter, Tiffany, is married and is a first-year Special Education teacher in Oakland Public Schools.  My son, Jeremy, is working as a pharmacy tech in the Everett area.  I have two cats, Ginger Belle and Jezabelle.  Ginger Belle has been a member of our family since my kids were little; Jezabelle came to us via Tiffany's college days.  Hobbies and other free-time pursuits include traveling, gardening, birding, photography, hiking, and snowshoeing.

vivianbVice President:  Vivian Belcher - I have been the Administrative Secretary at Catharine Blaine K-8 for 8 years. I originally took a SAEOP position to get more involved with my colleagues. Since being on the SAEOP board, I have become more involved with helping members earn their PSP certificates and assisting them to become more involved with WAEOP and NAEOP.
I have 3 children.  Kyle just graduated with a degree in Architecture, Collin is attending U of W and my daughter Allison is attending Big Bend. In my spare time, I am busy serving as the WAEOP Area 8 Director and WAEOP Rep for SAEOP. When school is not in session you can find me at Mariner and Sounder Games.

Past President: Carrie Bauer - I have been with Seattle Schools since 1991, three years with the Elementary Directors, seven years as Pathfinder School’s Administrative Secretary and am currently with B. F. Day Elementary School, the oldest continuous school since 1892, in beautiful downtown Fremont. I have two grown sons, greatly enjoy gardening, traveling, hiking, mushroom hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Members-at-Large:

Lenora Glymph

rodhRod Higuchi - I'm the Assistant Secretary at Denny International Middle School in West Seattle.  I've only been with SPS since about 2005, but I'm lovin' it.  I haven't been on the Board a full year yet, but let me tell you, your Board Members take their work seriously.  It's a pleasure to work with them for the benefit of all the Classified Personnel in the District.

On the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 9 to noon, you can usually find me at the Kona Kitchen Restaruant participating in their Hawaiian Music Jam Session (kanikapila) where local Hawaiian musicians gather to make music and have a great breakfast.  You're all welcome to coma and enjoy the good food and the warm Hawaiian music.

Cheryl Smith  - My husband & I are enjoying our newly emptied nest since we sent both of our daughters off to college this year.  When I’m not at school, I enjoy all sorts of handwork and crafts, as well as reading and puzzles.  I got more involved with SAEOP when our president started working at the desk beside me and soon found myself in charge of a website!  I have worked at North Beach for over 10 years, the last 3 as Office Assistant.

Past President:  Carrie Bauer - Hi there! I enjoyed being your president two years ago. It was very rewarding work. I’m proud of the work the new board is continuing for SAEOP’s. I too am proud of the work you all do out there in our schools and administrative offices. I know how difficult yet worthwhile that work is. I thank you for all you do, everyday, for our wonderful families in Seattle.
