What is PSP?

The short answer is: it's a pay raise! PSP stands for Professional Standards Program.  It is run by the National Association of Office Professionals (NAEOP) as a way to help members take the desired steps to professional growth.  The Seattle School District currently pays $35/month for each PSP certificate you hold.   (That amount is due to do go up to $40/month in 2012-2013)  If you earn 3 certificates, you are paid an extra $105 every month.  This is a very worthwhile investment.  It's true that you have to belong to NAEOP (and pay annual dues of $45) but the additional pay you earn if you work a 222 or 223 day calendar is $350/year for your very first certificate.  You can find more information on the NAEOP PSP web page.  You may also contact our own  Sue Daley or Vivian Belcher with questions.
