Your Contract
Your SAEOP contract is an important document to YOU. It spells out your benefits and responsibilities. It will tell you how you can collect reimbursement for professional development, how you can be paid to take professional development classes, what kinds of leave you are entitled to claim, what is and is not covered under sick leave and much more. You can easily find it in 2 places online:
It is on the Seattle Education Association website (http://www.seattlewea.org/) under the collective bargaining tab.
It is on the Inside Seattle Schools website (inside.seattleschools.org) on the Human Resources page. Click the link to HR on the left side of the "inside page," then click Labor and Employee Relations on the left, then click Collective Bargaining on the right side of the page.
Each school and work site should also have a hard copy of the contract.
Look at your contract, read it, know what you are entitled to receive.
